How the girl met a boy...
So suddenly she agreed to go. Without having any experience in partying, she felt this could be fun. She had just turned 18 a week ago and the hormones of being an adult just flew to the sky heights. It was the first real party she had ever gone to.
---
What she had imagined after turning eighteen was to go to school in the States and she had already picked the school out. It was the last year of high school she had to finish and all of her things had to be packed up in her home country. It wasn't easy to live in a country that had just started to build itself up from ashes. But the hopes of going to the States just kept the mood very positive. She had not been really sad really in her life. There had been times she was devastated but those times went quickly, faster than in the moment it seemed. And she was ready now to start a new life with more possibilities in her life after turning eighteen.
---
It was the night of party. The party was in a completely different town where she had to take the bus to. She was doing summer jobs and that day was the day before the weekend. After finishing work a friend was already waiting for her in the bus station where the trip was starting. It was fun and exciting while being away from her parents for more than couple of hours. The parents had always been strict to her; probably because she was a girl and living in a ex-communist country, the life might have not been the safest. Who could she blame? Of course nobody.
The trip took forever. It was almost 10 in the evening when they actually missed their bus stop and had to let the driver know. In the end the friends from the party had already been waiting for them. Her best friend at the time was excited to see her as they hadn't seen each other for almost a full day. It was amazing feeling to arrive to the party. It was the Midsummer Eve. There were people she had not seen in her lifetime. As she was from a smaller town than anyone else, that's probably why they hadn't met before.
The drinks were in the river waiting to be taken. The fireplace was already set up and the sun was setting. It was one of the most beautiful sceneries she had ever seen. The place was in the middle of nowhere, in the forest and the view was breathtakingly beautiful. One of her friends brought also a guitar along and the night could properly start.
Few minutes later there was a guy that opened his guitar basket and started to play some of the older songs. At first she didn't think much of him as he seemed to be more of a bohemian type of person and she had just discovered this world.
Later as soon as the dinner on the fire was cooked, the people had to find the place where to eat. The girls friends and this guitar player went upstairs in an old house and ate there. As soon as the dinner was finished, the bohemian guy took out his guitar and continued the night. As it was midsummer night, the sun didn't really set. It was the longest day of the year. He played and played and the girl started to sing after her friend took out her guitar and played a common song. The guy stopped playing and started to listen. He was staring the girl in astonishment. Her friend stopped playing and the girl just kept on singing while people around her were listening. It was a lovely voice she had, close to angel-like.
She started to feel cold and the bugs were biting her feet so she decided to stop singing to get some proper clothes. She just had to go downstairs and get changed. She sat down and thought of the way the boy was looking at her. She had never felt this way. It was one of the most beautiful feelings.
That is how it feels to fall in love.
A second later somebody entered the room. The room was pitch-dark and somebody sat on the bed. She felt his presence. He started to ask a lot of questions about her and in the end he said softly that he had fallen in love with her. From the first eyesight. He said it was the first time he had been like this. She said the same. The guy went from the room outside as he had friends waiting for him.
She went to the fire almost 15 minutes later. When she reached the fire she saw the boy hugging another girl and she was devastated. She went to talk to her friend who had known the boy. The words he said kept haunting the girl for years after this:
Please be patient with him. You are going to get hurt and I know it. Be aware of what you are getting yourself into.
The words were so piercing but not at this night. She was sitting around the bonfire and he approached him asking to walk further away. Her friend tried to stop him but she wanted to go. There they said for the first time that they love each other. They had known each other for just few hours. It was just a dream for the girl. The first kiss they had was the best she had ever had. From that moment the plans were totally different and she decided to stay in the country, go move in to the same town as he was and pursue her dream in music. They kissed each other so much until the late morning and the feelings were overflowing. They said their goodnights on a small bridge close to the little hut she had to spend the night.
She loved him, he loved her but as she didn't know anything about him the happiness turned into years of depression, longing and something she would not want to anyone.
Years later she is grown up and with a package nobody wants. Broken into pieces for someone that broke her years go but still haunts her dreams throughout life. She wants to turn back time and un-go to that party so that she would not had met him.
